24/7 Surveillance

Our storage facilities are under 24 hours CCTV monitoring. Our alarm system is connected to an independent third party security agency and the Hong Kong Police Force. Also, only trained staff is allowed to enter our storage facilities. Public access is strictly prohibited.

Climate Control

In response to hot and humid weather in Hong Kong, we keep our storage facilities temperature at around 15-25 degrees Celsius and humidity at around 40-60%.

Professional Moving Team

Our in-house professional moving team picks up and delivers directly to and from our storage facilities.

Insurance

Our storage facilities are insured against fire and flood.

Coverage

We insure each of your box and/or item up to a maximum of HK$1,000 and mobile storage up to HK$10,000.

Pest Control

We do pest control on a regular basis, pests are kept very much away in our storage facilities.

Pay anywhere

We use PayPal to provide a safe and secure online payment method. Also, we accept cash on delivery, cheque, and bank transfer payment.

How does Box-It work?

Box-It provides convenient storage solution in that you do not need to visit a storage facility anymore. Just sign up for an account online and schedule a free drop-off, our moving team will arrive at your home on the scheduled day to drop-off durable plastic boxes and tamper-proof security fasteners. You then pack the stuff you would like to store. You may schedule a pick-up for a later day at no charge. You can write a description for each box and upload photos of what you have stored, so you know what is in which box! When you want to retrieve something, sign into your account and select exactly which boxes you want to be returned. We’ll bring your stuff back on the date and time of your choosing.

Where is your service available?

Our service area covers the majority of Hong Kong , Kowloon and the New Territories except Lantau Island, Tung Chung, Ma Wan (At the moment, we cannot take any order where elevator is not available at the building of your premises).

Your Operating hours?

Our delivery hours are from 10am-8pm, Monday through Saturday (except for statutory holidays). Our customer service hours are from 9am-6pm Monday through Friday, except Saturday and public holidays. How secure is your storage facilities?

Also, temperature and humidity are being controlled to ensure your items are protected from moisture and dust.

Can I self-store or collect items by myself?

For security reasons, our storage facilities are not open for public for visiting. We handle all your pick-up and delivery hassle free!

Where is your storage facility?

Our storage facility is in Kwai Chung, but we are unable to disclose the exact location for security reasons.

Is there a mobile app to keep track of my stuff?

An iOS and Android app will be available soon. Our current site is mobile-friendly, so go ahead and use our services on your mobile device. Sign up for our newsletter and we will keep you updated as soon as our app is ready.

What happens if the website isn’t working?

How do you protect my credit card information?

We use PayDollar for the online payment gateway. PayDollar is a leading, secure and reliable international payment service provider to banks and online merchants since 2000. Customers’ payment details are securely transmitted to the acquiring bank, card and payment companies for real-time transaction authorization using 256-bit Extended Validation Certificates (EV) SSL transaction encryption. In fact, Box-It does not store and have any record of your credit card information.

Can I cancel or change the delivery time?

Yes, you can cancel or change your appointment as long as you do it as late as 5pm the day before. You can login to your account to do so. A late cancellation fee of HKD $150 will be incurred if you reschedule later than 5pm on the previous day.

How do I get my stuff back?

Simply login to your account and select the check-box of the boxes/items you want to deliver back to you. Then click on to “Schedule Delivery” and select a date and time that works for you. If you have further questions or require additional assistance, you may also call our customer service hotline or send email to us to get your stuff back.

What if I’m not there at the schedule pick-up or delivery time?

Our moving team will wait for up to 20 minutes while trying to get in touch with you. In the case of no-show, a HKD$150 penalty will be charged to your account.

Will you open my boxes?

We will never open your boxes without your consent unless we are bound by legal requirements to do so, or we suspect there are hazardous materials, illegal goods or items which emit any kind of odor or fumes. We will make responsible effort to contact you before opening your boxes.

What happens during severe weather condition?

When hoisting or issuing of a Red or Black Rainstorm Warning or a Tropical Storm Warning of Signal No.8 or higher, all services and deliveries shall be immediately cancelled. Services and deliveries shall resume as soon as it is practically safe to do so once such warnings have been lowered or removed. If you need any help, please contact our Customer Service Officer at 37920555 or email to support@boxit.com.hk, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I review my stored items online?

You can login to your account to review your stuff through our website.

How do I update my contact information?

You can login to your account through our website or email to support@boxit.com.hk to update your profile. Change of address within the 1st six months will charge HK$300 each time. After that, change of address is free of charge.

What if I moved to an area where your service is not covered?

If you moved to an area where Box-It is not covered or you moved to a building where there is no elevator access, we will deliver the boxes and/or items back to your registered address at our expenses.

How do I terminate my storage plan?

To terminate your plan, please make sure you retrieve all your boxes/items before your next billing cut-off date. You will only be charged until the end of your current billing month.

Can I use my own boxes?

We recommend using our boxes because they are durable, secure, and able to be sealed for storage. You can use your own boxes, however, each box will be treated as an oversized item which will be charged at HK$69 per month. Also, each of your own box must be comfortably carried by one person and the weight limit is 25kg.

What items I can store?

You can store items such as books, clothes, quilts, shoes, bicycles, luggages, CDs, DVDs, albums, camping gears, and other seasonal items.

What items I cannot store?

We do not accept any perishable items, hazardous materials, glass or fragile items , explosive materials, flammable substances, illegal substances of any kind, items would release harmful gases, or high value items of any kind. Please refrain from storing anything that is alive (or was recently alive), items that might raise suspicious behavior and things that might smell over time. Please read our terms and conditions for details.

What sizes are your boxes?

We have 2 sizes for you to choose from :
1. Standard Box – 60cm (L) x 40cm (W) x 36cm (H) (external size)
2. Jumbo Box – 60cm (L) x 42cm (W) x 46cm (H) (external size)

Is there a weight limit?

1. Standard Box – 25kg
2. Jumbo Box – 30kg
3. Oversized Item – 25kg
If you were to pack the box all with books, it would get pretty heavy and exceed the weight limit. You would be doing our movers a tremendous favor by splitting heavier items over multiple boxes and mixing them with lighter items such as clothing. (We reserve the right to charge HK$100 per box/item if it is overweight.)

How many boxes/items can I store?

We do not have maximum storage quantity.

What if I don't know how many boxes I need? Do I pay for those I don't use?

If you’re not sure how many boxes to order, we recommend that you order extra, just in case. When our moving team comes to collect your packed boxes for storage, just return any empty boxes you don’t use at that time. We only charge for the boxes you store.

After receiving the empty boxes, how long can I keep the boxes for packing?

After receiving our boxes, you can keep the boxes to pack your stuff and schedule a free pickup for up to two weeks. After two weeks, your monthly billing cycle will start.

How do I seal the storage boxes?

Before you seal your boxes, snap a photo of the box contents. Make sure everything fits inside the box and interlock the lid so the top is closed and flat. Lock the box by using our tamper-proof fastener at both ends. Make your mark on the tab part of the fastener with a permanent marker.

How do I review my stored items online?

You can login to your account to review your stuff through our website.

How do I make payment?

Billing is automatic so you don’t have to worry about it. After you have placed an order, your credit card is authorized but not charged. Once your boxes/items have made its way safely to our storage facility for storage, you’ll be charged on your credit card given. You will be billed automatically on the monthly basis through PayDollar.

How does billing work?

Rent is charged on a monthly billing cycle and payable in advance. The Charges shown in the first month’s bill will cover the period from the service effective date to the next bill date of the second billing cycle. The Charges for the period from the service effective date to first bill date are therefore charged on a pro-rata basis in the first month’s bill (based on 30 days per month).

Is there a minimum charge for storage?

Our minimum storage term is one month with minimum one box. If you store with us in less than one month, we still need to charge you for the remaining time that you didn’t store for.

Do you offer insurance protection for my items?

Our storage facilities are protected against fire and flood, and we offer a standard coverage of up to HK$1,000 for each box/item in case of damage or theft during transport and storage. However, it does not protect against damages due to natural disasters such as floods, tidal waves, earthquakes, etc.

How do I file an insurance claim if necessary?

If you need to file a claim, please send an email to support@boxit.com.hk and we will work through the claim together promptly. When filing a claim, please be sure to include the following information:
1) Subject Line: Insurance Claim for (your first and last name)
2) The returned date of your box/item
3) Barcode ID on box/item containing damaged or missing items
4) Detailed inventory list and replacement value of items in HKD
5) Specific description of loss or damage as it pertains to each item
6) Your contact information (phone number and email)

When will I be charged?

You will be charged on the day our moving team picks up your packed boxes/items and delivers them directly to our storage facility or 14 days after the empty boxes are delivered to you, whichever earlier.

What if I need to cancel after I've already received the empty boxes for packing?

That’s totally fine, just let us know and we’ll send our moving team to collect the empty boxes. Please note that there is a pickup fee of HK$200 if no box to be stored with us within 14 days after .

How do I terminate my storage plan?

Do you prorate refunds?

Storage is always charged in monthly increments. There are no prorated charges for taking your things out of storage early.

How to calculate the prorated charges?

Your first bill is calculated based on the calendar dates of the billing cycle. If your service is activated in the middle of a billing cycle, you will see on your first bill the prorated charges from the activation date to your first bill date (total amounts / 30days X day of usage).

We can deliver your things to you within 24 hours and always at a time that is most convenient for you. The earliest you can book for is the next business day assuming the chosen time block is vacant and the booking is completed before the cut-off at 5pm on the previous day. In case of any unforeseen circumstances, we may need between 24 to 48 hours for delivery.

Can I have my boxes pick-up in different batches?

Each empty box drop-off comes with one free pick-up. For multiple pick-ups of the same batch we dropped off, there is a fee of HK$29 + HK$15 per box/item.

Can you return my boxes to a different address?

We can only return your boxes to your registered address. You can change the address by login to your account before you schedule a return delivery. However, change of address within the 1st six months will charge HK$1500 each time. After that, change of address is free of charge.
